Hi Mike,
I’ve been having a couple of issues with the app - every half hour or so it’s becoming unresponsive while annotating and I have to force quit and reopen, and also when in a show occasionally when turning a page, the next page will get stuck on the grey loading screen and I have to force quit. Are these known issues and do you know if there’s anything I can do to stop them happening?
I’m on an m4 iPad Pro running os 18.2 public beta 2
Thanks!

Hello Jake,
I'm sorry to hear that you are encountering those issues. They are not known issues and I certainly haven't seen that occur on my iPad Pro (although I'm not running the public beta version of iOS). I also haven't heard from any other users of that happening. Can you please go to Settings->Backup and Restore->Export Settings and send the .mcf file that is generated to mike@zubersoft.com? I'd like to look over your settings to see if anything stands out as a potential issue to me. Do the problems seem to be occurring with specific PDFs, or does it truly seem to be random? I need to figure out some way to reproduce the issue in order to have any chance of fixing it. Also, in regards to the page getting stuck with the loading icon, did you try to do any analysis on that, or did it only happen during shows? The reason I ask is it would have been helpful to know if reloading the song fixed the issue versus force quitting the app. It would also help to know if turning back three to four pages and then going forward again caused the page to load.
Thanks,
Mike

I also have that freezing glitch, plus the Apple stylus sometimes doesn't draw, even when I make sure the color is selected. Those two glitches in MobileSheets have made rehearsing with other people unpredictable.

How often are you seeing that occur? Do any specific actions lead up to it occurring? What steps should I take to try to reproduce it?
Thanks,
Mike

Both the freezing and the annotation failure happened about five times across a 2-hour rehearsal in a setlist. While practicing now: I wrote a few fingerings, then the pen became un-selected in the command bar. I selected the color again but it still doesn't draw. This time it resolved when I exited and re-entered annotation mode. I restart the iPad every day. This has been happening for a while, probably while on iPadOS17 too.

Also, each particular ink size that I select draws at inconsistent sizings, especially when iPad is rotated differently. And after I lift the stylus, each stroke ends up slightly shifted up or slightly cut off at the tail (end).

Is the page scaling set to "Full screen"? If so, can you please try changing it to "Fit screen" and let me know if that resolves that issue?
Thanks,
Mike

No, it's always set to "fit screen" which is the default in portrait and landscape, including now.

Then I'm not really sure I understand the nature of what you are seeing (I would need to see a video). If you tap the pen tool to view the dropdown, there is a "Smoothing" dropdown. You would want to set that to "Minor" or "None" if you don't want your drawings modified. Minor will use far less data in the database than "None", but should present a nearly identical result, so that's usually my recommendation. As far as differences between portrait and landscape, in the settings, there is a "Scale tool sizes in landscape orientation" setting which tries to resolve issues with the size differences when rotating. I'm not sure if that's the nature of the problem you are having or something else.
In regards to the freezing, in the annotation settings, please uncheck "Allow editing of embedded PDF annotations" if you have that enabled.
