Some of us use MobileSheet in different musical formations. They have to manage setlists and songs that multiply, sometimes with the same name but in a different interpretation. And the errors of files and versions multiply...
We tried several storage locations but it is not easy, and not very explicit. One of us ended up buying a second tablet to have two distinct configurations...
Wouldn't it be possible to have several profiles, for example at startup? Personally I am a drummer for 3 bands...
And Mary Christmas and happy new year

In my MobileSheets every band / line-up has a separate collection and that's it. For some songs I use the same MobileSheets-song in multiple collections (=band), for some songs I use a copied MobileSheets-song that refers to the same file, for some songs I use different MobileSheets-songs referung to different files - whatever is adequate.
For a rehearsal with one of my bands or to prepare a setlist for a band I just select the collection for that band.

Not all people are GIG...
Also, some notes or edits move when you share songs...
For some people, we sometimes have to provide a new backup...
A solution to switch between profiles would be more efficient.
And there is probably already exist a way to simply change the file path and directory location.
And many musicians collapse at the first difficulty

Restoring partial fault is difficult for people.
In addition, a multi-profile solution could help to create a "spare" tablet, witt profiles readdy to help in case of problem : Drum - Singer - Chords by example.

Have you looked at using a separate library for each of the bands you're in?

Yes

, but change path via parameters is complex

Currently with separate libraries the libraries still share the same storage space. I think Mike is working on a way to allow separate libraries to be stored in separate locations but I don't think that is possible yet. It is however possible to backup libraries individually, and to sync them to a backup location individually. If what you need is a separate storage location then perhaps using separate libraries with shared backups would work? If not then it's possible that Mike's planned 'versioning' function might provide the functionality you're looking for but I think it's going to be a while before that's available.

Unless you disable "Let MobileSheets Manage My Files", and setup separate folders like I do. The library databases remain in their standard location, but the song files go where you put 'em. I'm enough of a control freak that I need this

It suits my sense of order.
You're only paranoid if you're wrong

I'm using an Onyx Boox Tab X, and play low brass: mainly 'Bone and Tuba
