I’m new to MS, so this might be an obvious question. I’m using MS in conjunction with Gig Performer.

I’m assigning unique MIDI CC commands to each song sheet in MS and Gig Performer.  In this case, since each song has its own dedicated CC command, do they still need to be sequenced in performance order within a set list or can they just live in a set list in any order and the CC commands will open each one following the set list song order in Gig Performer?

MobileSheets will load each song as soon as the matching MIDI command is received. If those songs are all within a setlist, it will just skip to that song in the setlist. If they are not in the setlist, MobileSheets will then load that song by itself. So the order of the songs within the setlist doesn't really matter, although having them in the same order as GigPerformer would provide small performance improvements (as MobileSheets caches 5 pages forward and 3 pages back, so if the songs are sequential, the pages may already be cached when you switch songs). If your PDFs load quickly, then that doesn't really matter at all.
