Forum attachment upload fails
#1
Hello,

(Posting in this category, as my question is not Android-, iPadOS- or companion-related)

When trying to attach a file to a forum post, nothing seems to happen.
In the browser's error console, however, this message appears:

Code:
Uncaught ReferenceError: mybb_max_file_uploads is not defined
    checkAttachments https://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/forum/jscripts/post.js?ver=1808:345
    addAttachments https://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/forum/jscripts/post.js?ver=1808:213
    jQuery 2

I think this should be fixed in the forum's source code.

I have tried using both Firefox and Chromium under Fedora 41. Both show the same error and upload-issue.

Thanks, kind regards,
FWieP

Edit: it seems the actual upload and attaching succeeds; hence the attachment in my first post.

The error perhaps prevents the upload from showing client side - after attaching, but before the actual form submission?

I'm sorry for the noise; when choosing the button 'Preview post', the attachment is shown as expected.

The post I initially wanted to attach the photo to, has just been, well, posted.

Please consider this thread closed.

Kind regards,
FWieP

It's possible there is an issue due to the server upgrade I did about a week ago. I upgraded to php 8.4, and this seemed to cause some rather significant issues with the forum software. So I chased down all the issues I found at first, but there are probably still some lingering issues. I'll look into this.

Thanks,
MIke

I went down a rabbit hole this morning and found several more server configuration issues and template errors for some of the forum themes. I've now resolved those, so adding attachments works correctly across all the themes.

Thanks,
Mike
