alternativepets - I don't know if you are including MobileSheets in that list of apps, but you can both collapse the annotations toolbar (and it will save that state), or you can enable settings to automatically move MobileSheets below the toolbar and below stage manager if desired.

The TCL NxtPaper 14 
A 14,3 inch screen. 4:3 ratio. A4 format(europe). You can chsnge into a si called E-ink mode. By the way it is not a E-ink device. And a color mode by clicking one button.
It is a android (14) tablet.
Price at the moment around 350-400 euros.
With a pencil and Case 475 euro.

 
I don't think it's available in the US and Canada, at least I couldn't find it...  did you?

I am confident that the aspect ratio is nowhere near what is advertised.
