Adding Organ Pedaling Markings to Stamps
#1
I want to add organ pedaling symbols to my Stamps collection and wonder if anyone has already created them and would be willing to share or show me how to do it.  I have tried various ways to create the graphics, but none are usable once I add them to the stamp library because they end up being too big or too faint.

These are the 6 symbols I am trying to add.

Thank you!

The Firefox browser just added PDF editing to allow users to modify any pdf file.  If you save your music as a pdf you can add any symbol found on your typing keyboard like ^ o etc. I usually place a toe ^ or heel o above the note for right foot and below the note for left foot.  I tried it just this morning and it worked well for regular alphabet characters.  If you can assign one of the symbols to a function key on your computer I'm guessing it would work for placing that symbol above or below the pedal note on the music.  When you finish the editing be sure to save the pdf to your normal file for music or you loose all that work. Here's a sample

You'd really want to create the symbols as .svg files using an application like Inkscape. You can set the document properties to specify the base width/height for the file, so if you set something like 60x60, it will probably show up pretty well at the default size in MobileSheets. Also, do not just embed text in the .svg file. You need to convert text to a path, otherwise it will embed the font information and it will not be as portable and may not display properly if the font is not present in the OS on the device.

Hi Mike, that information helps get me started.  I am not sure what you mean by "convert text to a path."  Is that something that would be covered in the Inkskape tutorials or FAQs?

Load Inkscape, enter text, switch to the selection tool, select the text, click the Path dropdown, then "Object to Path". Now the text will actually be respresented by a series of drawing operations, and will not actually be text anymore (you'll find you can't edit the text or edit it like you would other text objects).
