Custom stamps suddenly very small after update?
#1
Hi, I don't know if I'm posting in the right place.  I'm running MobileSheets on an iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) running iOS 18.1.1.

I switched to MobileSheets from ForScore several months ago.  I created some custom stamps (including Roman numerals to indicate violin string numbers, eyeglasses, and a caesura).  I've used these successfully for months without problems.

A day or two ago, I launched MobileSheets to find a pop-up that looked like an explanation/log of fixes implemented in some recent automatic update (?)

I've just noticed today that the custom stamps I created months ago and have been using without problems are all suddenly much reduced in size.  I've checked, and they're all set to 100%, but they are displaying much smaller than they used to.  It is now quite difficult to discern I from II and III.   All previously applied instances of these stamps now display in the much smaller size.  Any new applications of the stamps display in the much smaller size.

How do I fix this?   Undecided

Is this a known bug?  Is there something I can do to restore these custom stamps to their previous, legible size without having to delete them all and recreate them?

Thanks for any insight!

Hello Paula,

In order to fix reported issues with the iOS version not properly displaying various .svg files, and inconsistentencies between the handling of svg files between Android and iOS, I switched the iOS version of MobileSheets to use the same SVG library as Android (which required porting the entire Android SVG library over). With all of the svg files I had tested with, there appeared to be no differences between the old and new svg libraries, so I thought it seemed fairly safe to make this change. I'm going to need you to send some of those svg files to mike@zubersoft.com so I can take a look at them. In order to get the best result, it's important to have a width and height listed in each svg file, as this is the basis for determining the base size for drawing that svg file. So I will need to see how your svg files were set up. Depending on the outcome, I may also need you to share a library backup file with me (Settings->Backup and Restore->Backup Library) so that I can compare your songs with the old vs new library. I may be able to modify the svg files so they render identically to how they used to, and then I can create a library backup file for you to restore to get things back into a good state.

I wanted to follow up on this - I think the SVG-based stamps are not accounting for the display scaling of the device. They appear to be about 50% of the size they should, which makes sense as the iPad has a 2x scaling I believe. So please don't try to fix your existing stamps. I will try to address this and push out an update ASAP.

I have the issue fixed and am submitting 3.9.13 to Apple.

Although not directly the answer to your problem (it seems Mike is on top of that) this sentence caught my eye.  " A day or two ago, I launched MobileSheets to find a pop-up that looked like an explanation/log of fixes implemented in some recent automatic update (?)".

I would advise turning off any automatic updating, particularly for programs that are 'mission critical'.  Any update is a risk (e.g. accidental introduction of a bug - as this one did for you) and it is far safer to leave any updating for when you have the time to check out everything is working.  A flawed auto-update has the potential to ruin a gig!

I did fix the size issue, but there is a small issue with placement that will have to be fixed with version 3.9.14. So I'm gathering a few more fixes for that.
