Freezing while annotating
#16
I still don't know how to reproduce that. I've never seen that on either of my iPads, and no other user has reported that issue either, so I have no information to go on. I don't even know how it's possible for an Apple Pencil to generate a pinch gesture to zoom. It also sounds like the pencil is being detected and reported as touch input, which also seems like it should be impossible. I'm amazed this problem is isolated to MobileSheets. If you uncheck "Stylus Mode", does that not cause it to work for annotating? That's probably how the other apps are working - they may not have a touch rejection type mode and are just accepting the pencil input in the same manner as touch input. If they do differentiate between pencil and touch input and it seems to work fine, then I'm completely at a loss to explain what you are seeing.

I should mention that I have a 2nd gen iPad Pro, and they changed a number of things with the pencil with the 3rd and 4th generations (such as adding hover support, a double tap gesture and a pinch gesture). I have no idea if that's related in any way.

Oh, I didn't see an email alert but I just logged in and saw your reply. Today I am testing writing with Stylus Mode unselected. So far the Apple Pencil is working without glitches but my hand draws unwanted marks.

That seems to point to the Apple framework identifying the pencil input as touch input on your device. That's not something I can do anything about, as I am relying solely on the Apple touch processing code to let me know what kind of touch input is generated (finger, pencil, mouse, etc).
