Duplicates when moving files in source folder structure
#1
Question
Hi,

I am syncing with a Dropbox file structure.

If I move an existing file from one folder into another folder in the Dropbox structure, is there a way for it to make the removed (moved) file just appear once, since it has bee removed from it's original location?

Example:

I have a song called Beyond the sea in my "root" folder (i.e. the base folder for MobileSheets in my Dropbox).

I move the file from the root folder to a folder called "Archive".

I want the original file, no longer located in the root folder, to be removed from MobileSheets (since it no longer exists).

I want the new file, now located in the Archive folder, to appear in my MobileSheets sheets.

Either during sync (which I think would be natural), or is there an option to "clean" the MobileSheets library of all files that no longer exist in the synced folder structure? (Like in Kodi, for instance, that clears all files that no longer exist if you select the option "Clean database".)

Is this possible somehow?

MobileSheets does not perform a simple file-based synchronization to a cloud folder. It basically compares one database stored on the device to a database stored in the cloud folder to determine differences. For that reason, if you just move a file, the database in the cloud won't be updated to know that you moved that file. So, to answer your question directly, no, you can't just move or delete a file and MobileSheets will move or delete any song tied to that file upon synchronizing.
