In my music library I had several thousand PDFs, and to pare things down, I recently deleted some duplicate subfolders. When I search, the old duplicate files still come up as result, and clicking on them displays a "file not found" error.
Is there a way to rebuild the music library without losing prior annotations, etc., to clean out these phantom duplicates? Or another process to delete those entries from the library?
Thanks!

Goto:
- Settings
- Other Settings
- Find missing files
Of course, if there are annotations or notes linked to this "missing files" you will delete them also...
Would be very carefully at any delete actions......

There could be hundreds of "double occurences" - would anyone want to be asked a question about each one?
By automatically adding the entries, you have the option of sorting them out at your leisure.
Always make a backup before making major changes to the database e.g. deleting lots of songs. This takes hardly any time and provides a fallback should it not go as envisaged (like here)

That did the trick, thank you!! The app seemed to freeze for five minutes and the Android system kept asking me if I wanted to wait for the App, but eventually it completed.
Problem solved.
