„Use formatted title for sorting“ Not working on some devices
#1
I have a strange issue.
The Option „Use formatted title for sorting“ does Not work anymore on android 8 eink devices.
It is working on my Android11 eink device. I Don‘t know what changed, that it is not working anymore. Especially that it is working with the identical Version on a different device.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Stephan

edit: strange #2: The Format does work with the default Library but not with another one ?
edit2: I created a Backup of the Library with the issue including the Settings. The issue is also on the other devices. So something seems to be wrong with Library or settings

I found the „issue“.
The Option does not work, when there is a Metadata for „SortTitle“. That Metadata overrides the Option.
Is there a way to do not override it with the SortTitle?

I do Not find any Option in the settings

As itsme said, the whole purpose of the SortTitle is to override the sorting behavior so that you can have something sorted a specific way regardless of what the title is. So I would not recommend using that field if you don't want that.

Hmm, okay.

I would like to use this field for „connect tablets“ mode as a unique identifier.
But if it is especially for sorting the Library I have to think about another solution.
I had hoped , that I can disable the override
