Because the music player wasn't useful, I had to add a clever button to provide a "Play-Pause" option that works with a single action.
This option was requested for players who wanted to work on a song while using the player. It's absolutely necessary to have a quick "play-pause" action, so they can listen and save without leaving the instrument.
This works very well, but it needs to be installed on each song.
It would be very useful (and not just in this area) to be able to broadcast the option automatically. I'll leave that up to you.

You could already Start/stop the music Player via Touch Action.
Settings -> Touch Action.

You're right, some use it, the best way is with a single pedal.Right now I edit a Smart Button to this on each page, the raison is : some musicians have not a pleasure computer learning.
The best could be to modify the reader to assign "Stat-Pause" on the same, because people have lot of aggassement about this. (Clic Play, re-clic play and the song restart from begin") it is more intuitive to have the same buton, just change the symbol : when song pay, buton show "pause" option, when the song is in "pause" or "Stop", display the start arrow)... The stop stay with function "Stop and go to begin"
Hope Mike will modify this...

Well, we don't seem to agree on many things here and I won't try much more to convince you, but anyway, IMHO the best way is to put the touch action for start/stop audio in the top center place (or another place you like).
I think you're doing your users/musicians a disservice if you assume they're not capable or willing to remember/understand that tappping the top center starts and stops an audio (especially if you have set it up beforehand in the options, but it could be as easily explained to a user for setting it up once). How is putting "clever buttons" on every page/song or having Mike code some extra request preferable to that? I don't understand it. Nuff said.

It's name "wiziwig ", easy and instinctive, in opposition with lots of blind options you have to learn, especially if an existing option totally unlogic...
Your reflexion is limited to touch screen, it is an option but lot of people use computer to help them in lerning a song.
Touch screen, if they are multiple, becoms difficult to use. 4 cornes, the center, two fingers, 3 fingers time numbers of musicians = lot of questions, lot of bad manipulations...
