Tips for music preparation
#1
Hello,
I would like to report some useful pc software for preparing music for newbies.

1) MuseScore is an music xml editing package, used in conjunction with the WikiFonia site allows you to edit chords, score, lyrics etc and transpose. Very useful tool and absolutely free.

2) Install "ImagePrinter" (the free version). You can print pages to either PDF,TIFF,JPEG formats. If you open up a fakebook PDF you can get it to print individual PDFs.

3)PDF-Xchange (the free version) allows you to open up PDF documents and annotate them. THis is very handy for adding notes and tweaks prior to batch uploading to MS.

3)I had a look at programs to translate scanned music images into actual music. The open source one was not very good on the tests i performed.
I looked at "SharpEye" and it did a good job of converting a scanned music sheet to music xml (i could open with MuseScore and tidy up the mistakes).
It has a 30 day trial period, not sure if i would pay the money asked for it.
