I've made a bit of a mess of my first attempt at setting things up so I'm wondering if there is a painless way of starting over and removing all the tunes I've pulled in so far, short of a reinstall.

This may differ depending on your tablet OS, but go to your tablet settings->Apps->MobileSheets->Clear Data. This will remove all settings, songs, etc, leaving you with a fresh start.
