This is not a complete solution, but may help some people, and stimulate discussion of other solutions.
If you are using either the Gboard or AOSP on-screen keyboards:
1. For a major 7th chord (triangle), press the "?123" key, and then the "=\<" (Gboard) or "~[<" key (AOSP)
2. For a half-diminished chord (circle with a slash), long-press the "0" (zero) key, then select the symbol (it should pop up)
Presumably you could set up custom auto-correct entries to get to these faster, but I couldn't get that to work on my device.
