Is it possible to remove or suppress or turn on/off the page slider at the bottom of screen when turning pages?
If it is on it can cover up notes that you want to read.

You can hide the page slider if you don't need it under Settings->Display Settings->Page Slider Visibility. If you switch it to "Hidden", then it will never be shown. It's normally only shown when the overlay is up - are you leaving the overlay up the entire time?
