MIDI Issues problems.
#16
If you are referring to a pedal release, pedals don't work that way. They send a mesasge when pressed, but not when released. So there is no way for MobileSheets to respond to that.

No, the Airstep can send the commands when the Button is released.
You distinguish long press and short press this way.

I cannot use such a device because BT MIDI is not reliable, e.g. not all commands at song load are being forwarded.

Understood. In theory that should work then. Bluetooth MIDI seems to work fine for me on all my devices using the Google MIDI library. Are you using the Google MIDI library under Settings->MIDI Settings->Configure MIDI Connections?

Happy New Year!

Yes, using the google library. I verified each command using the test button, everything is working.

As I mentioned, USB MIDI  works fine for two devices on two separate channels.
Even three commands in order (PC and CC) work flawlessly.

But this stuff goes directly into the first device. Chain via cable into the second.
BT MIDI on the other hand would transmit into the Airstep, and its job would be forwarding into DIN cable to the first device

No problem on stage, I continue using the cable.
An Airstep would have additional possibilities, which could make  some tasks easier

PS: I played around with one of the "three command" songs.
Seems that just the very first command is being transmitted.
I do not beleive that this is a MS problem.
I tried a second MS installation with the same result.
Only the first of three commands is forwarded.
The others are executed if I swap the commands,

ok, bad news here.

I verified that MIDI on cable works fine on MS Android in every combination.
I can use the HX Stomp or the Airstep for connection.

But now I tested the stuff using MS on Windows, connecting to the Airstep using BT.
A Win10 Notebook instead of the Android tablet. Same setup for the devices.
The connection is Notebook to Airstep using BT.

And it works!

I tested two songs with different settings, and it goes fine.
The Airstep forwards all messages.

That leads to the conclusion, that, at least in my case, MS on Android sends only the first command.
Again, this happens only when using BT MIDI!

No clue whats wrong.

And bad news #2
I managed to get an old Huawei smartphone up and running
This works too!
So it seems that it is a vendor specific problem, becaus my tablet and smartphone are both Samsung models.

weird...

I think I got it.
I just put in a "Pause" command into the second position.
Duration 0.5 s
And this works! Not necessary between 3rd and 4th command.
Strange, but a solution for me.

Looks like a timing problem finally.

I'm glad you were able to resolve the issue with that. Some MIDI devices are very sensitive about the timing, and receiving all of the messages at once can be a problem that a pause resolves.
