New page turning transitions
#1
Lightbulb
Hi there.
I have a simple suggestion for new transitions when turning song pages within the app.
The default transition in the app is a slide to a new page, following by a slight screen flash whenever you a turning from one song to another song.
I think this transition is fine for how it behaves and i have nothing against it, but i would very much be interested in at least a new optional one.

My idea for a new transition option would be a paper curl transition whenever you turn from one page to the second page of the song.
Then, whenever you turn from one song to another song there could be a page turn transition or something different that easily shows that you've gone to a new song.

If possible as well, an option that utilizes haptic feedback for Android at least whenever you turn a page, as well as interacting with main UI parts of the app would also be nice to have.

I would love this idea if possible, and i think i would enjoy the app even more whenever i go through my songs Big Grin

I can certainly consider page curls as an option in a future update once I have time. I'm not sure about haptic feedback though - I would need to do more research on that, and also hear from more users if that would be something they would want.

Thanks,
Mike

I don't seem to have any settings for page transitions, at least I can't find any.  Perhaps this is because I'm using the E-Ink version.  In any case, I haven't observed any transitions which makes me very happy.

OK, just downloaded the trial version to my phone and can see that there is an option to disable "page turn animations" in the non E-Ink version.  (huge sigh of relief!)

With all due respect to the OP, I hate the idea of page transitions.  When I hit that pedal I need an instant page turn, no faffing about, just turn the page.
I'm too busy playing the song to "appreciate" that kind of pretty anyway... Or be happy about the time it would take, so being able to disable it is critical for me should I ever add a non E-Ink tablet to my setup.
You're only paranoid if you're wrong  Cool
I'm using an Onyx Boox Tab X, and play low brass: mainly 'Bone and Tuba

I think many users agree with that perspective Lawrie, which is why the current behavior would be the default and users would have to enable page curl transitions if that's something they want. If it's something that's fairly easy for me to add, then I'll do it. If it looks like it's going to be a fair amount of work, then it may get pushed back.

This is what I use, no page animations.

Awesome, thanks for your reply and your thoughts on it  Big Grin
I also definitely agree with you on the haptic feedback part.
