About me

Sex:   Male
Location:   Venezia, Italy
Bio:   John Scarne’s three sentences started me toward becoming a winning player many years ago. Some of his advice is obsolete, but those sentences will always be up to date. They taught me to wait until I had a good hand and then to attack with it. Most opponents played too many hands, calling with almost anything, but rarely raising. They played good hands almost the same as bad ones.
Selective aggression is poker’s strategic cornerstone. Instead of wasting their chips by doing a little of this, that, and the other thing, winners wait until they have the best of it and then attack fiercely to make the most of it.
Most players are not selectively aggressive. They don’t control their thoughts and feelings well enough to get the best of it, and they lack the decisiveness to make the most of it. They slowly dribble away their chips. Losers don’t have enough discipline and decisiveness to take the four steps of selective aggression:

1. Wait for the right cards; then play them aggressively.
2. Attack when you have good position.
3. Select games you can beat.
4. Attack weaker players.
