Tablet on your musicstand
#1
How do you keep your tablet from falling from your musicstand?

For the moment (until a better solution is found), I'm using the two strips of metal used to keep sheetmusic from falling. This, however, does not suffice as the tab at two occsions almost fell off.

For the iPad, special mounts are available. For my Asus TF101 I haven't seen them yet.

I've purchased a cheap cover for my tablet and attached it to my stand using Velcro strips. Works like a charm.

I have been looking at a resolution to the same issue (I am actually yet to buy a music stand) becasue I am using a Motorola Xoom - and it is heavy to hold for any length of time - but I had the same idea as above - I would put the tablet in a silicone case (or similar) that I could cut a couple of slits in the back of - and then thread through a velcro strip and feed it round the stand to hold it on.

I also thought about using the velcro straps that are hooks on one side and loops on the other (used for securing cables) as I thought these would be easier to use than standard velcro strips.

Throw away your music stand and get a RAM mount. RAM sell mounts for all types of tablets and phones. The type you want is one that clamps onto a microphone stand (around any round piece of metal actually). Bonus if you sing, you now only need one stand for both.

This is the one I use

Thanks for that - given I have not yet bought my music stand - I will check it out Smile

No probs. They are VERY solidly built. I clamp mine onto the vertical part of the microphone stand, and when I am singing into the microphone at the end of the boom, the tablet is a nice distance away for reading and changing pages (until I build my footswitches).

There are also general purpose ones available on eBay that fit many tablets, but the price is not huge, and they don't hold the tablet as securely.

I made mine so it clamps on to a Mic stand. Search Sweetwater for Mic stand adapters. For less than $20 plus Velcro you will be set. Used mine live once. Will post details later.

I found two on Amazon. Both attach to mic stands OR gym equipment. The supports are virtually identical, but I prefer the mount on the Universal Tablet Handlebar mount one as opposed to this 360° Swivel Adjustment. Again, they're otherwise pretty identical. The first is attached to a mic stand for music use and the second is for my gym time on the ever boring stationary bike of treadmill. I hit the other cardio equipment to hard to try looking at a screen at the same time.

I bought the Hercules HA300 and it works great with my ASUS TF300T 10.1 inch tablet. Very secure!

I have a "K&M 19740 Tablet PC Halter"
https://www.amazon.de/19740-Tablet-PC-Ha...lter+k%26M
It costs 49,90€ in Germany and is rock-solid, but only for tablets up to 10.1''.
I put it on a solid music stand. So I can also play sheet music that is not actually in Mobilesheets...

I just pourchased this for use with my Excite 13 I just bought (yes, a little spending spree):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BCFZ...UTF8&psc=1

I am pretty sure it should work, at least in portrait mode (no grip on top).

I think there are other options that will work, even with a 13.3 tablet. I think the trick is to get one that does not have a grip holding one side of the tablet. So, in portrait mode the fact that a 13 inch tablet is much taller than (say) and ipad should not matter (the top part will nto be within the "grip"). At least that is what I am hoping.
