If that is truly the case - and it does seem an incredibly short life-cycle for a top-end device - then they will probably turn up at a reduced price, as retailers dump their stock in anticipation of the new model.
On the assumption that happens, I would buy one and save some money. Plenty of users here running this tablet successfully.
It could be true (at least in the UK), as when I click "Where to Buy" on the official Samsung Galaxy NotePRO (12.2, Wifi) product page, it says:
