The current version of the companion app doesn't support extracting metadata from PDFs. That is only support when importing on the tablet itself. The next update of the companion app is significant, as I've rewritten the application using a different framework, and as part of this, I've added code to extract PDF metadata (I still need to test this, as I'm using a different library for it as my current PDF library only works in UWP appliations).
