I'm not following what you are trying to do or why you are wanting to use the song ID field. That field allows you to associate songs with each other when using features like the library synchronization, connect tablets, etc, even if their titles or files are different. Is that what you are wanting to do? You said all the music was gone - that depends completely on the synchronization settings you selected, and I would have to see what you selected.
