Setlist with multiple sets
#1
I posted this request under Tips & Tricks and Guidelines and it seems that it's not something currently supported, so I shall re-post here.

I would like to be able to create a single "setlist" which has multiple "sets". These would be  independently numbered.

Many gigs consist of songs in multiple sets, with one or more intervals. For instance, I have a gig coming up with two sets of 16 songs and an interval. I would like to have a setlist with Set 1/Songs 1-16, and Set 2/Songs 1-16.

The best workaround I've found is to have a setlist with a placeholder called "interval". However these are just numbered 1-33 and "Set 2, Song 1" would be a much more useful identifier than "Song 18" .

I've considered two setlists, but that's clunky, and makes it tricky to make changes.

As of now, the only plans related to this is the eventual addition of a new tab that will manage groups of setlists (so you can place multiple setlists under one parent, and load all at once if desired), and support for separators in a setlist. I'm not sure whether either of those will get you exactly what you are looking for.

I have a (somewhat) similar experience on a smaller scale. I had this idea I could break a complicated score into the individual tempo parts, and reunite them within a setlist, and then the software could scroll at different tempos in different parts of the score. This works fine, but then, like the author mentions above, I can't nest this setlist as a single entity within a different setlist. Instead, I must put each individual section of the subdivided score into the setlist. Not the end of the world, but the nesting of setlists within a setlist might be an idea worth exploring.

@Steven

You might already be doing this so apologies if so.

Put all your separated songs into it's own setlist
Choose a common set of characters at the start of each song name (so that they are obviously a block of songs)

When needing to create a new setlist which includes them:-
  1. Enter all other songs, if any, before the required posistion.
  2. Exit the setlist editor.
  3. Long Press this special song list until it has a check mark
  4. ... (three dots, top right);  Select "add songs to a setlist"  (add to the one you were creating)
  5. Re-edit the setlist;  all the songs will be co-located at the bottom (with the same leading prefix to show they are to be treated as a block).
  6. Add any other songs.

Not brilliant but workable.
Could be tricky if you want to shuffle "blocks of songs" around the combined setlist.

@Geoff Bacon

Your method works pretty good. Less tedious than the way I was doing it. Thanks.
