I recently discovered the three-fingered tap feature to quick access annotation and I love it. I was looking at the options available for customizing the two-finger tap and here's an idea I didn't see available that would be super useful: toggle between the two most recently used tools in annotation mode. I regularly switch between either the pen and move/zoom tools or the highlight and move/zoom tools since I usually edit while zoomed in as my handwriting is clearer that way. It would be really convenient to double tap to toggle between them. I suppose toggling been the current and previously selected tools would be the most useful behavior for other people.

I suppose that's not so easy to implement since it requires saving in the database which tools you have used. But that's for Mike to say and decide.

But did you consider using the favourites menu for "toggling" your favourite tools. That's not a 2 finger tab, but 2 taps with a finger.

If you assign a tool to the two finger tap in the annotations editor, the two finger tap switches between your current tool and that tool. So if you set the two finger tap to the "Pan" tool, then you can switch between the pen and that, or the highlighter and that. So given your example, the current functionality already works. Switching between any of the last two tools is maybe useful in limited scenarios, but I actually struggle to think of times where you'd always want it to be between two random tools, instead of the current tool and a designated tool (like the panning tool).

I see. I was looking in the general settings and not in the annotation settings. In the general settings, there are no options for specific tools so I didn't think the option existed. So it looks like it already can do what I want it to do. Thanks!

Some users have said that they don't like having the touch settings separate in the annotations editor, and that those settings should also be shown under Settings->Touch & Pedal Settings->Touch Actions, so that's something I'm considering.
