Is it possible to show data from song "fields" in notes or a text box? In my case, I'd like to see the song tempo, so I can set my external metronome accordingly.

At the moment, no. I would have to add support for a syntax to dynamically insert values from the song fields. That's not a trivial thing to add, but does seem like an interesting thing to support, so I'm not opposed to it.
