Column Sort in Companium not working
#1
Hi
I've recently updated to the new version of the Companion app. Generally speaking, I'm not having any issues with it, (until today), although I prefer the older look as it's much faster and easier on the eye than the new one. However, after importing several new songs today, I realised I'd missed some information that I usually input into one of the fields. My usual solution is to sort the music and look for the blank fields. This has the advantage of also identifying any others that I may have missed. Sorting is done in the Companion by clicking on the column heading. This does not work anymore; it used to work for all columns. Can this be reinstated, please?

Thanks,
David

Check that you are not trying to sort a setlist in the companion (the old one only sorted columns in Song or Collections).

Can't check the latest version myself as I haven't updated to the latest versions (I haven't updated for several months!)

Hi Geoff
I was in Songs when first tried, but then tried all sections. Nothing worked.

I've made a number of changes with the next update to support people who prefer the old approach, the most important being:

1) You can switch the sort to "Use Grid Column Headers" and then just click headers to sort by that field. Groups will no longer be categorized by letter and the alphabet list is hidden.
2) You can set the text size for the list as well as the row height. So you can shrink things down if you like to fit a lot of entries on the screen at once.

Thanks, Mike,
That sounds useful. I look forward to the next update.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for releasing this so quickly. Unfortunately, once I have saved any changes the sort order is set back to default and the cursor goes back to line 1. This does not make editing entries very easy. Is there any way this can be changed so that the sort order does not change once an item is edited? I realise this could be difficult because if I change an entry that would change its position it would move, but I would still like the sort order not to reset back to the defalut.

Thanks,
David

Just pushed out an update for this. Let me know if it works a little better for you now with 4.1.2.
