I'm sure it's an easy answer, but I need to set up two different song lists - one for the jazz band, one for church.

You can go to the Setlists tab, tap "New", enter the name of the setlist for the jazz band, add your songs, tap Save, then on the Setlists tab, tap "New" and do it all again for the setlist for the church. I'm trying to keep the songs in each list separate.  There will be maybe 200 songs in one, 120 in the other.  As I build a setlist I only want to have to dig through the songs pertaining that show/service.

Keeping them separate means you are talking of collections.

Setlists are normally used for a performance when you want to play a "small" number of songs in a particular order.
So, put all the songs into their own collection and choose that when looking at songs for that group.

When you want to create a setlist, show the filter and specify that group in the collection field
You can then just select songs specific to that collection.

If required, a song could be in both collectiosns but, if it is is likely to be changed, I would suggest you give each collection it's own version.
Song names need to be unique so put a small mnemonic at the end off the name e.g. _ch or _jazz or -ch and -jazz This means that even if a song is in both groups, they will have different file names (there are other ways to do this using name formatting but this is the simplest method for the number of files you are talking about).

When importing, you probably want to select "Use Filename as SongName" rather than "Guess..." (not quite sure the exact settings description)

I think I get it - thanks.  So, start moving the charts into a new master file in 'Collections'.  No there won't be any crossover; Jazz is the Devil's dance music after all...  But thanks for responding; I'll figure it out in time.

It's easy to put your existing songs in a collection

Open Songs

Long Press one of the songs until checkboxes appear
Tap other songs to select them
Three vertical dots (top right)
"Create Collection from Songs"
New - Type in a New Name
It may be a good idea to not select too many songs at once (should you accidentally hit something else then you might have to reselect them).
To add further existing songs to this collection, use the "Add Songs to Collection" and select the previously used name.

When importing new songs, fill in the Collection field (it will apply to all songs in the import)

You can't delete songs from the collection screen - when removed they still exist in Songs.
Deleting from Songs gets rid of it completely.

I use different libraries for the very different use cases (see Settings > Library Settings)

It is easy enough, I have 4 groups I play with - I use collections for that - and I play bass, ukulele and guitar so with each group I have more than one instrument. So I have renamed custom group to be Instrument and use that to divide the songs by instrument, and then another by group. Songs can have more than one instrument and more than one group - sometimes I'll use a bass tab, other times I'll just have a chord sheet as a hint. 

I've now tended to create duplicate songs as I've added in foot pedal programming into songs and I use the same pedal for both bass and guitar.

Really easy to create new set lists with only the right songs being offered using the collection and instrument filter, as each combination will be less than 100 songs, and so easy to flick through the alphabet list.
