Am I thinking wrong?
I was adding books (with separated, titled sheets) into Setlists, with the book's title as the Setlist name. The Collection these Setlists are in is called Fakebooks. When I click on Fakebooks it shows me all the sheets, I expected to see the list of Setlists.
Is there a way to tell MS to show only the Setlists that belong to the Collection selected? Or do I have to filter each time I move around in the Collections and Setlists? I'm a little confused.
Or does each book have to be a Collection, and I don't really need to use Setlists?
Collections are groups of songs. Setlists are also groups of songs. I don't currently supports groups of setlists. That's something I may add support for in the future. So you can't place a Setlist under a Collection. If you filter on collection, it will show any Setlist containing a song belonging to that collection.

OK, so I need to think it out differently I guess.
I'll try a few other things, see how it goes... there's no way to group a collection of books in some other way, to work as I was thinking? Maybe Albums.
How do you get rid of a Custom Group? I made one, just to see... and now I can't get rid of it. Do I just hide it?
You can configure the library tabs to include custom group (https://youtu.be/MGEhb0CW1Bg), then long press a custom group on that tab and tap delete to delete it from the library. Alternatively, edit a song, long press the custom group entry on the fields tab and select the option to delete it.

Thank you, I'd watched that video, it doesn't show how to delete a Custom Group that's been made.
Can Albums do the same as Setlists?
Setlists have an option where you can select a piece from the Setlist and it will open to that and also open the rest of the contents of that Setlist.
When I had my books imported as under Setlists I liked this feature. Albums doesn't seem to offer the same option.
As I mentioned, once you've added the Custom Group tab, you can go to that tab, long press a custom group, and then tap "Delete" at the top of the screen.
As far as your question, no, only setlists are set up to behave that way.

Sorry, I don't mean to be awkward but when I do a long press on my Custom Group (which I named Custom Group) I don't get an option to delete it. I've tried it when empty and I've tried it with content.
When I long press I see only these options at the right side.
Sort:a-z, - New - Edit - Import (Edit doesn't give me a delete option)
The 3 dots don't offer a delete option either.
My 'Custom Group' is located along the top, with Pieces, Collections, Albums etc, and it appears as a Field when I'm editing a piece. Here I can hide it, or I can hide it in settings, but it doesn't 'long press' here, so no way to delete it. But I can just hide it, I don't think I will have reason to need it, yet anyway.
I do have another question though
The way MS indicates there is Audio with a piece, can it do something similar to that to indicate that there is a keyboard registration connection made? The indicator is nice, it would be nice to have something similar for the registration connection too if it was possible.
If you are using a mouse on Windows, you can right-click. If you right-click or long press with a finger, you should see a checkbox appear to the left of the entry. The options at the top won't change until you see this occur.
You have to actually add the custom group as one of the values in the custom group field on the Fields tab of the song editor, and only then can you long press the entry with the blue box around it to see those options. Do not press the dropdown arrow (although I did add an option to long press entries on the dialog that is displayed when tapping the dropdown arrow to delete them as well).
At the moment, no, I don't have any other indicators, as users are all wanting different indicators (MIDI connection, are annotations present, are notes, present, etc, etc) and I'm not sure I want to clutter up the entire library screen with those unless I can make it all optional. If I make it optional, I have to create new entries on the settings screen to control what indicators will be used and then add a lot of code to update the UI layouts and conditionally show or hide indicators based on the settings.
Yeah, I've tried right clicking, I think I've tried just about everything. I'll just hide it, if a time comes could be useful I can rename it, use it then.

I'm not sure how best to help. As you can see in the attached image, I added the Custom Group tab, created an entry called "Test", and I right-clicked it, and it's selected.

Yes, I did the same. Created an entry called 'test' and deleted that, no problems. But I can't delete the actual 'Custom Group' itself.
But - perhaps it's not meant to be deleted. It's just when I see it in the Settings I though I would be able to remove it, set it back to there being no custom group.
I have hidden it. I think perhaps that's what is to be done and I was overthinking.
Oh, yeah, you can't delete metadata fields. You just hide them in the song editor with "Configure Fields" and you just remove the tab from the library list. So it sounds like you have what you want.

I found a solution. I'll use Type to indicate for Midi, I think it'll suit.
Thanks
I've just been reading about Filters. There is a filter for Audio. Could there be a filter for MIDI? So if a title has a midi link it can be searched this way?
I know you said you don't want to do a visual for the midi links, I get that. I'm just looking at options for setting up my collection so I can see which are linked, which aren't.
I'm not sure if a Filter would cover this, but it works for my pieces with Audio, so it might.
