multiple tunes in an ABC file / versioning
#1
Hi,

I am trying MobileSheets for the first time (for the moment testing with the limited free version on iOS). I
have loaded an ABC file with many tunes in it and it loaded as a single song. Is there any way to get the
songs loaded separately without manually splitting the file?

Also, as I play bass clarinet and other non-transposing instruments, it would be helpful to store concert-pitch and Bflat
versions of some of the tunes. I can see this would work if they are loaded as separate songs, but I have read forum
discussions relating to a tune versioning function under development. Am I right in thinking this is still under development?

thanks

At the moment, no, you'd have to manually split up that ABC file into separate parts yourself before importing. Transposing will be available for ABC files with the next update.

Sorry to follow up so soon. I am finding that some of my ABC files will load and others won't on my iPad.
They are all being accessed via DropBox. The ones that don't load give a dialog box with this message

Import Results
Failed to open and read text document <name>
Failed to import file <name>
Successfully imported 0 of 1 files.

The same file will import and display OK on the Windows version.
I am running the free iPad version and the 14 day trial on Windows.

I think the first transfer step works OK, if I try and import a set of files I get a brief glimpse of
messages saying transfer is 100% complete for each file. I don't think the problem is related
to DropBox, I get similar results using local ABC files.

Is there any way I can get any more diagnostics?

I am finding more files fail than work at present.

On Windows it works much better but I have one file (with 72 tunes in it) which crashes the
Windows app. Would it help to send it to you?

thanks

Can you send one or more of the files that won't load to mike@zubersoft.com? I'll test it out on my iPad to see if I can reproduce the issue. Having the ABC file that crashes on Windows would also be helpful.

Thanks,
Mike
