I have just started using MobileSheets and am very impressed. This is my first go at using a 'monitor' to display music rather than using paper sheet music so I am still getting used to triggering page turns with my foot but I hope I will master it soon.
Rather than fork out for an expensive large screen tablet, I opted for a less expensive route - I purchased a HD portable monitor (light and thin) and hooked it up as a second screen to my Mini Mac. It then just rests on the piano's music holder just like sheet music would. Even though it is just HD resolution, it works well and being just HD, doesn't require expensive cables. (It is about 15 foot from the computer).
Using the monitor in landscape I am able to use the two page display mode. That again works well but my brain is struggling to get used to the rapid changes in the screen as it flicks from one page to the next. Also I am struggling to get used to the page that was on the right, suddenly being on the left and being able to pick up where I am. (Invariably part way down the page). I have tried the "alternate" page switching mode. Again it works fine but is not ideal when I have to arrange sheets to deal with music that repeats. (Pages that are first on one side of the screen then sometimes later appear on the other side (unlike with paper sheet) and my brain gets confused).
I note that in single page mode you can scroll the page and adjust the scroll rate. What would be fantastic (IMO) is to be able to operate in the double page mode progressing one page at a time but instead of the page transition being instant, have the pages scroll right to left at a speed sufficiently slow that I can still follow my position on the page with my eyes.
I would love to hear any one else's thoughts.
