Is there a way to sort by PRO files and PDF files? Sometimes the songs on the tablets get so messed up it seems easier to delete them and import them all from scratch. The problem with that is, some of the meta data for the PDF files is not embedded in the PDF files, so I have to go through them, one by one, and add it again, if I delete them. So I would like to have an easy way to delete only the PRO files.

You can't sort by those, but you can try to filter on them by changing the search dropdown in the filter bar to "File Paths" and then enter the file extension for your ChordPro files (.pro, .chopro, etc). You could enter ".pdf" (without the quotes) to search for PDFs.

And when you've filtered them I suggest to put the results into a category "pro" and "pdf" under the types tab.

Try this: 
settings: Library settings ,Pierce title foramatting , start with %SOURCE_TYPES%.
If you filled all the types. this should group types together.
