There's so much beta stuff being posted, I thought I'd try and break the logjam .

Those of us with large tablets (13" and up) will know there is a problem with finding suitable supports for them. Using a stock heavy-duty stand will support a large tablet, but there is still the chance of it getting knocked off, so here is one cheapo solution to consider.

I used a bit of extruded plastic in a square U shape. The internal dimension of the U fit the tablet with a very little to spare. I cut two of these and glued them to the stand with silicon rubber. The tablet simply slides into them. To protect the back of the tablet from scratching, I taped a piece of microfibre cloth, which was lying around, to where the tablet could scrape on the metal stand.

I use the Airturn Manos. 13.3" seems to be se maximum size it supports.
Works fine, but the screw for tilting sometimes seems to a little bit stressed with the weight of the tablet.

Seriously though, if you have nothing, then a dedicated mount is an option. However, many of us already have a decent music stand (for all that paper we used to have) and it seems a waste to buy another one.

If appearance counts get a dedicated stand. My home built like a tank worked great but was heavy and ugly. Also carrying an extra stand is a big deal for me. Using the one pictured with other hardware makes sense.

I use a "K&M 19740 Tablet PC Holder" (http://www.thomann.de/de/km_19740_tablet_pc_halter.htm) that can be put on a heavy-duty music stand (like http://www.thomann.de/de/thomann_orchest...deluxe.htm) with or without the head for the paper-based music.
Works excellent for me - but is not really cheap...

Another alternative that we use in our band is velcro-strip at the back of the tablet and on the music stand.
Works even for a 15'' tablet.

I use blue, low-residue, painters tape. This is the only solution I have found for when the tablet slips off a piano's music rack.
