export/print chopro file as a pdf
#1
Is there any way to export a rendered chopro file to a pdf? I would like to send my bandmates who dont use MS something they can easily print out. The only workaround I found was to do a screenshot and send the image.... Ok, I could pack this into a word doc and print that to a pdf. Not exactly the most elegant way. I saw there is a software called chopro buddy but it is Mac only.

There is also another app written in Java so it's cross platform called ChordSmith. (I used that exclusively until they release chopro buddy for newer mac OS releases). While it doesn't print the formatted chord sheet itself it packages another Java app called "Chord" that will allow you to print it to a PDF. It won't be the same rendering as MSP but should give you something. For just printing you can probably just use the Chord app itself but the editor in ChordSmith is IMHO much better than the Chord app editor.

For most flexibility: https://github.com/sciurius/chordpro . It is the reference implementation of the ChordPro standard.

It's not very intuitive, but you can actually force MobileSheetsPro to export a chord pro file as a PDF. To do this, open the song using the chord pro file, then go into the annotations editor. Add an annotation somewhere (it can be a blank white box so it's effectively invisible). Save your changes, go back to the library screen, long press the song and select Share->Export Files. MobileSheetsPro will now see that you've annotated a chord pro file, and if you include annotations in the export, it will have no choice but to convert it to a PDF. This is just a workaround - I'll have to add an option to convert to PDF that is available when exporting one or more songs using chord pro files.

Thank you guys for your helpful answers!
If at some point we could render a bunch of files to a pdf from within MS , that would be welcome too!

If you select a song with multiple files or you select multiple songs and then use Share->Export files, there is already an option to "Join into one PDF".

You are right - everything is already there! Once I select at least 1 song, the main (...) menu offers a print option. Then select the Microsoft pdf printer and you're set. Works with chopro text, pds etc... nice!
