Galaxy View 1 or 2 with 18" or 17" screen
#1
Anyone else using one of these monsters?

The original View 1 (WiFi only versus the View 2 which has a built-in cell phone) has great battery life and displays 2 pages of music at nearly full-size, close to 8 1/2 x 17. I held out for a tablet with a 2-page capable display simply because I didn't want to turn pages, even with a foot pedal device, and nearly my entire music book is 1 or 2 pages per piece.

I bought mine back in 2019 when they were still reasonable in price, around $600. I found out that MobileSheets was the way to go for Android and its worked well since even though operating system (OS) updates for the tablet stopped back in 2021.

My Galaxy View 1 on an AirTurn stand

Now the closest thing is the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with a 14.6 inch screen, but I haven't seen one in person yet to see the physical difference in image size. A new one goes for $1,000, but with the View 1 or 2s going for that (OR MORE) USED, it might be a viable option.

I'm about to send mine to Samsung for repair, so I'll post how that goes as well.

Just now seeing this. I have been using these since they January 2016 when I bought an open box item. they are the best 2 page digital music stand out there. There are at least 2 places in Canada selling refurbished for under $300.US on eBay. While the operating system isn't easily upgradeable at least MobileSheets has continued to work on the old Android OS. I am currently buying a new screen and digitizer from Alibaba to repair a friend's 18.4" and will probably attempt to update to Android 8 once I replace the screen. Battery replacement is a piece of cake on these if you ever need to replace the battery.
