I gave up on Wine quite some time ago (Linux user since about 1988 . . . 33 floppies and the 0.x kernels . . . ) I've been running the QEMU virtualization stuff, and never found anything that will not work in a Windows VM, running inside the Linux box. (But yes, you do need to Load Win* into the VM, but it's not an either/or - the Win VM shows up on the Linux desktop, and has full access to netowking, USB, and all other devices).
