Unable to open backup file on PC with Companion
#1
I have created a backup file with the last version of MobileSheetsPro (1.1.5) and made a copy to my windows computer.
Using the last actual version of MobileSheetsPro Companion (2.1.3) I can't open the backup file on the computer.
"Error opening backup file. Unable to view song data"
The backup file is 3,22 GB (3.460.428.861 Bytes).

Restoring on the tablet works fine!

I wanted to use the backup on PC to correct and add some parameters.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I can't say why you can't open the backup file on the computer. That is a bigger file than many of us have (mine is about 1.8 GB).

However, as we are at the moment, you can't modify the backup file using Companion alone. All that is possible is to view the whole library and extract individual files, as required.

Corrections and additions need to be done either direct on the tablet, or on Companion while linked to the tablet (obviously, followed by a backup).

Vibraphon - are you trying to use the extraction dialog in the companion app when you get that error, or are you using the restore functionality? I've never tested with a backup file that large - I'll have to see if I can find a way to generate one that big.

Restore on tablet works.

The file is such big because there are more than 3000 tunes and aobout 200 audio files inside.
With my POV-tablet I can't get a connection.
With my children's samsung the connection works.

See attached video.

I just found some problems in my code related to files larger than 2GB. I've fixed those issues, so in theory the backup extractor should work with larger files now. Unfortunately, I still don't have any of those files to test with.

Wouldn't 4GB be the next limit?
Personally, I think monolythic files of this size are, eh, insane to manage.

It has now been working for a much longer time (about 4 minutes instead of 1 minute before), but at the end it didn't open the file. I have got the same error message.
