  HELP - tablet is dying
Posted by: tjrob - 09-28-2019, 02:38 PM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (1)

My Hannspree 13" tablet slowed down to uselessness (a minute to load a 3-page song). So I did its factory reset, with the intention of loading everything back -- I use it only for MobileSheets and have done this in the past. I had it delete everything, and after powering down and back up it looks like a virgin tablet, Android 4.2.2. I configured my WiFi and the browser can see the internet.

Disaster -- its "Pre Play Store" app, which is supposed to load the Google Play Store app, now just sits there with a white screen. Googling this, I found apkmirror.com, downloaded the latest Play Store apk, and installed it (minimum Android version 4.0). When I run it, it just expands to a white screen and immediately exits.

After booting it usually gets a popup "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped", and sometimes "OTA Updater has stopped."

Without the Play Store I cannot install MobileSheets, making it useless for me.

Is there anything else I can try?

(I have a second one configured identically, which works just fine. Both are about 6 years old. I use one or the other almost every day.)

  Feature request: S-Pen support?
Posted by: jdeluyck - 09-27-2019, 11:52 PM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (10)

I don't know where to post this, so .. I hope it's in the right forum Smile

I was wondering if you'd be open to supporting more of the Samsung S-Pen - it has these 'air gestures' these days, which would actually sortof work to use as a page turn indicator. Or even just supporting the button on it.

  MSP Version vs. Android Version
Posted by: itsme - 09-24-2019, 09:19 PM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (3)

Hello Mike,

What's the minimum Android version to run the current MSP?
Or, the other way round, what's the latest MSP version that runs on Android 4.0?
Does a list exist that shows the minimal Android version that is required for a certain MSP version?

Problems with different settings on different devices
Posted by: Vibraphon - 09-24-2019, 01:39 AM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - No Replies

On my SurfacePro as master device I use "Create Subdirectories For Songs".
I use the companion to create backups and restore those backups to my other devices.

On my new device using Android 9 the "galery app" is replaced by the "google picture app". In this app all mobilesheets folders appear as albums.
Therefore I disabled the setting "Create Subdirectories For Songs" on that device.

Then I restored the backup using the companion "Restore Library".
I tested the following settings:

  • Restore To: Default Location
  • Delete all existing files ... Checked
  • Restore Settings  Unchecked

  • Restore To: Original File Location
  • Delete all existing files ... Checked
  • Restore Settings  Unchecked
In both cases the songs were again organized in folders.

  Companion Software update
Posted by: W_Engel - 09-23-2019, 04:54 PM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro Companion - Replies (1)

Hi Mike, i made a mistake to install the latest update on my old XP-computer, it does not work, supposed because it now requires Framework 4.6., would you please post a link for a "downgrade" to the last version before that switch?
Thank You
WE

Solution: I did not yet update my Installation on Win7, so i copied the whole folder to the XP-Computer, everything works again...

Pixel Android 10 not detected by Windows 10 companion app
Posted by: OldSkoolMark - 09-23-2019, 01:30 AM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (7)

My older Samsung tablet is detected by the Windows 10 companion app, but after updating to Android 10, my Pixel is invisible to the companion app. Both the automatic detection and the manual connection via hand-entered ip address don't work.

  Tips
Posted by: hotwired - 09-22-2019, 08:37 PM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (2)

Good morning everyone

I've managed, with the help of the programmer, to figure out how to sort lists so that they are in the order I'll play them. However, do you know any tips in keeping track of which songs you've already "added"? In other words, I've got, say 100 songs imported. I want to populate 4 show lists, but not have any duplicate songs. While I'm editing setlist 1, for example, the ones I've added get color coded so I can see at that time, but once I go to edit, for example, setlist 3, all the songs are on the right hand side again with no indication that I've added them to another setlist. This feels very "primitive"...I've basically got to (gulp) grab pen and paper and "jot down" which songs I've added. There can't possibly be such an oversight. This is too cool a program to have that bug. Any suggestions??

Also, I'm using a Kindle HDX right now and a solid hour of rebooting modems, routers, hooking up USB, etc. has yielded no joy in terms of connecting to the "companion". My pc is connected to router via ethernet, which is very common, so I'm hoping THAT isn't my problem. Any suggestions on troubleshooting in this regard would be great. I've also disabled completely my firewall just to be sure it wasn't that.

I'm leaning toward finding more of a "file manager" vs. "lyrcis app" at this point only because I only use the lyrics as a security blanket. But I've paid for it so I might as well use it.

Import photos on Samsung Tab A 2019
Posted by: Scotauto - 09-22-2019, 04:08 AM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (4)

I am a new user of Mobilesheets pro. I have imported PDF files without any problems, however I have now tried to import photos which I have taken on my Samsung Tab A(2019). I managed to import 1 photo at a time but can't bulk import. Any ideas why..?
The original photos were lying on there side, I then changed them via gallery to the correct rotation, but on import they are still lying on there side after import. Any thoughts?

Absolute Total Beginner Trying to Get Started

I have Music Sheets Pro for my Android tablet and I have the companion in Windows 10. I want to get all my music into the app and use it for performing.

I am hoping I can learn how to
1. enter the music, some as sheet music and some with just words and chords, at a size I can see AND that fits in the window
2. make each song scroll at the proper speed so I can sing along with it
3. have all the songs in a format that will allow me to transpose them to different keys sometimes

I entered some songs by typing them in Notepad, following the coding in the instructions, and saving them with a *.pro extension. I can't find a way to load them into the Companion app on my computer, plus I don't know what I can do with them once I do that, anyway.

I've tried to find simple tutorials. I tried several searches of this forum. I can't find any instructions simple enough for my dense brain. They all seem to assume I know more than I do already.

I've given up several times. This time I'm back and thought I'd start right out by asking for help, before I get too frustrated. I did open my Companion app and try to load some songs, but it only wants to import *.msf or *.mss files. I don't know what those are. Almost all menu items in the Companion are grayed out, so it doesn't even look like it will do anything.

Is there anywhere I can find a really super, super simple, extremely detailed step by step tutorial to get me started with this?

certain Youtube links in PDF not working
Posted by: Blumi - 09-20-2019, 07:36 AM - Forum: MobileSheetsPro (Android) - Replies (2)

error in Mobile Sheets Pro v2.7.4 (Android):

Youtube link in a PDF document doesn't work, if it has the form https://youtu.be/okvl-9svtS0 (which is standard, when using the 'copy Video-URL' function in Youtube).
Error message: file /okvl-9svtS0 not found

However the link works properly if it looks like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okvl-9svtS0 (as it can be copied from the browsers' address line)

I am not sure if it worked prior to the latest update.

Both link types work properly, if the PDF file is opened in an PDF viewer app other than Mobile Sheets
