Hi, I have the problem that in sheet mode the texts are covered by the annoations. The reason is probably that there are always gaps between the lines that did not exist when the annoation was created. If you turn forward to the next song and then turn back again, the line spacing changes. See Screenshots. (Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 FE, Android 14)
Is it somehow possible to prevent the display going of during a Backup to the cloud (maybe to the internal storage too)?
If there is a large Backup like mine, everytime the Display goes off the Backup process fails.
Firstly, I find the interface a little odd in that on the Import menu there isn't an Import... option to open the file browser for an individual file (not a new issue) but you can drag and drop an individual file.
The PDF import is doing something different than Printing to PDF. I'll attach an example. I am wondering if it is a paper size issue - being British I am in the land of A4. The original file isn't paginated, it relies on a fair wind to not break a stave. Indeed, checking the PDF properties reports a different page size in mm. I also noted the emboldening seems different.
Examples attached. basa(1) is the MobileSheets generated one, (the square brackets seem to be something to do with the forum software being quirky today).
I would recommend using the .deb file for Ubuntu or other Debian variants, but I also provided a zip file for users that would prefer that. If users run into any issues with the Linux version, please let me know. I tested it on Ubuntu 22.04.1. I'm going to work on the MacOS install next.
I should also mention that dragging and dropping files into the companion application window does not work on Linux, as it's a limitation in the Avalonia framework. Hopefully it's something they will be able to address at some point in the future.
MobileSheets version 3.9.7 is now available for Android and iOS, and is awaiting approval for Windows. This update contains a few bug fixes for reported issues and a minor new feature. Additionally, companion app version 4.1.0 is also now available, and this update contains some significant changes, including an entirely new PDF library that opens up the ability to convert word (.docx) documents to PDF as well as combining and converting other supported file types to PDF in the song editor. This PDF library also makes it possible for me to properly support Linux and MacOS, as I was encountering significant stability issues with the previous library. The companion app also now supports an option to sort using grid column headers (which is how it worked with the 3.2.0 and earlier design) as well as list text size and grid column height settings for users that want to display as many entries as possible. I should mention that the only downside of the new PDF library is that the installer for the companion app has now more than tripled in size to around 140 MB, so it may take some users a little longer to download each update. The full list of changes can be found below:
Companion app v4.1.0
Added support for new sort option "Use Grid Column Headers" which allows column headers to be clicked to sort.
Added new options in the settings dropdown for list text size and grid row height to display more entries at once if desired.
Replaced PDF library, allowing missing features to be added as well as new features.
The song editor now allows files to be combined or converted to PDF
Microsoft Word (.docx) files can now be imported and they will be converted to PDF. Simple word documents will convert more accurately.
Fixed keyboard focus issue where keyboard input couldn't be used on some dialogs if focus was on a field in the main window
Increased default size of column and tab configuration dialogs and made them resizable
Fixed display issues on import/replace dialog causing automatic crop checkbox to be hidden
Fixed issue where clicking on empty space in a grid cell would not select that row
Android v3.9.7
Fixed remaining issue with songs being duplicated in a setlist during import under some situations
Fullscreen mode is now disabled by default on Android 14 or higher devices to avoid potential issues
Hide the Navigation Bar is now enabled by default on Android 14 or higher devices
Added support for setlist index(%INDEX%) with the Generate Song List feature to output the position of the song in the setlist
Fixed issue with Create Snippet feature not copying annotations correctly in some situations
Windows v3.9.7
Fixed remaining issue with songs being duplicated in a setlist during import under some situations
Added support for setlist index(%INDEX%) with the Generate Song List feature to output the position of the song in the setlist
Fixed issue with Create Snippet feature not copying annotations correctly in some situations
Fixed issue with two finger tap not working in the annotations editor in some situations
Fixed issue with text tool not showing the selected font properly for some fonts
Fixed layout issues with rename file dialog
iOS/iPadOS/MacOS v3.9.7
Fixed remaining issue with songs being duplicated in a setlist during import under some situations
Added support for setlist index(%INDEX%) with the Generate Song List feature to output the position of the song in the setlist
Fixed issue with Create Snippet feature not copying annotations correctly in some situations
My next goal is to finish testing and releasing the Linux and MacOS versions of the companion app. Everything appears to be working so far, so it's just a matter of setting everything up properly to distribute those versions.
Hi
I've recently updated to the new version of the Companion app. Generally speaking, I'm not having any issues with it, (until today), although I prefer the older look as it's much faster and easier on the eye than the new one. However, after importing several new songs today, I realised I'd missed some information that I usually input into one of the fields. My usual solution is to sort the music and look for the blank fields. This has the advantage of also identifying any others that I may have missed. Sorting is done in the Companion by clicking on the column heading. This does not work anymore; it used to work for all columns. Can this be reinstated, please?
Hello,
Just tried to upload some music to my tablet using Companion.
After attempting to connect I get a message saying this version of Companion is out of date.
At least version 4.0.0 is required, so it seems I have had no updates for a while?
I have had a look at the 'about' and my version is 3.2.0,.
Not sure why as I have Automatic Update checked in 'Help'.
I am going to try a fresh install from the website and hope it overides the old version?
I've read through the handbook and even tried to find a solution here in the forum via the search function. Could not find anything that matches my problem.
So I try here:
I would like to show more columns in the APP for Windows and Android. For example my Windows (and Android app look like this) (Screehshot1).
Only the title of the song is displayed.
I would like to show 3 more columns with Song ID and type and one of the custom data fields. How can I activate this for Android and Windows?
Thanks for your help and sorry if it has already been answered somewhere. I could not find anything in the search function.
I'm preparing my sheets using my desktop PC and love the Companion for easily transfering them to MSPro. When uploading a modified sheet (replacing the old version) the pre-4.0-Companion dialog used to have an option to automatically crop the sheet. Unfortunately that option is not available anymore. After uploading using 4.x I have to take extra steps to edit the sheet and crop the edges. I think, this option previously available was very convenient and a great time saver. It would be great to have again this option in 4.x.
