Import msf into folder
#1
Hi,
I relased that if I import MSF file, it always downloads pages into Mobilesheets storage location, and then if I change Storage location then it can't read those files.

Is there anyway to extract/import MSF file into another folder? Or I have to import it and then rearrange them into other folder?

Thanks

Hey all, Ihave a problem with importing MSF file.

I got MFS file containing whole set list with pfd's and when I import that file, all the "extracted" pdf's go into MobileSheets Storage location folder, which I don't want. I want to use the folder where those charts need to be, so everything is in order.

If I Change MobileSheets Storage location folder and extract to a designated folder, and then change again MobileSheets Storage location folder, it can0't load the pdf's anymore. Like their location has changed.

Is there a way to import mfs file to designated folder?

Thanks

You can't do that if you want to use a .msf file. It's going to place the file in the storage location. If you want to manage all of the files, locations, etc yourself, then you have to manually copy files and also manually copy over the database file. If you fight against the MobileSheets file management, you basically have to manage it all yourself. What you can do is import the .msf file, then long press that song, tap "Swap File" in the overflow menu and replace the file with a PDF that is located in the destination you want to use, and check the option to delete the existing file. So this would let you still move over the information, but you have to update the database manually using the swap file feature.

Thanks, so what is the best way to share .pdf charts and set list together? How is the best to export/import them?

Thanks

Normally, I would say using a .msf file is the best way to share with other MobileSheets users. Exporting the files with embedded annotations would be required for non-MobileSheets users (there is an option to export the entire setlist to a single file). However, as mentioned, if you want to tightly control your files and folders, then you are going to have to repair the database after importing the .msf and moving files around using the swap file feature (or Settings->Other Settings->Fix Broken File Paths).
