Another update, and another round of bug fixes and small enhancements. Major progress has been made on annotations, and the end is in sight, but I thought these bugs needed to be addressed first. The following changes were made:

MobileSheets v3.0
- Fixed bugs with media player causing some tablets to appear to lock up. For these tablets, set media player position to center, as it may be mostly hidden at the top or bottom. Some tablet's versions of the media player (like on the Kindle Fire) require you to tap on the player to hide it.
- Fixed back button not working when media player visible.
- Added options to always keep media player visible, and set media player position from overlay
- Fixed collection editor crash in free version.
- Deleting songs with subdirectories should now clean up the subdirectories too
- Filtering on collections works again.
- Fixed list selection bugs in song editor, and bugs related to the preview window displaying incorrectly after removing files
- A new one time message is displayed to set the removable storage path at startup.
- Added new status log to the sync screen. A large amount of information is now displayed while connected to the companion app.
- If one file from a song fails to transfer from the companion app, the rest of the files should now transfer correctly.
- Extra space is now automatically trimmed from the start and end of titles, albums, artists, and custom entries.
- Added option to clear all data under internal and SD card storage before initiating a library restore. Removable storage is not affected.

MobileSheets Companion v1.2.9
- Library count is now properly reflected after batch import.
- Fixed bug that sometimes prevented files from previewing correctly.
- Fixed bug where changing a song's genre to an different existing genre didn't work.
- Added additional error reporting when a song's files fail to transfer correctly.

I'm way behind on updating the documentation, keeping the forum up-to-date, performing updates on the website, etc. I will do my best to get these done soon, but I'm still trying to prioritize annotations as much as possible.

Mobilesheets v3.0 and MobileSheets companion v1.2.8 have been released, and with them comes a huge array of small enhancements and bug fixes. I tried to respond to a lot of customer feedback, and solve the major problems with the library backup/restore. While I still have a lot of great ideas for future enhancements that I received through emails and the forum, I’m going to switch back to finishing annotations, will mostly likely not be adding any new features until they are released. Look below for details on all of the changes:

MobileSheets v3.0
Added ‘X’s to quickly clear search fields on the library, setlist editor, and collection editor screens.
Tapping on ‘X’s and numeric values to show the popup dialog should now only take one tap instead of two.
Add new options for debounce time limit (disabled, 1/4 second, 1/2 second, 1 second, 2 seconds).
Add new option to set link point radius. Make the circles bigger or smaller to fit your needs.
Library Backup/Restore have been reworked to eliminate potentially serious bugs with songs not matching up to the PDF/images shown. Old backup files are still supported.
Backups through the companion app are now streamed from the tablet, meaning no space is required on the tablet to make the backup file.
Large number of audio player enhancements. There are now options to always display what track is currently loaded, repeat songs, rewind to start, and reset sheet music with repeat.
Media player can now be hidden by double-tapping. Tap area in overlay for hide/show has also been expanded.
Media player is automatically hidden when overlay is brought up, and brought back up when overlay is hidden.
PDF renderer updates.
Fixed orientation lock bugs where the lock is not released even after leaving song, and lock does not work in landscape mode.
Added option to skip to All Albums automatically for artists.
Random song selection now requires confirmation before loading. Also works for selecting artists/albums/genres/setlists.
Filtering by source type ‘Other’ no longer crashes the app.
Fixed bug with prev link/next link pedal mode crashing app if song had no link points set.
Improvements to song title guessing – capitals are handled better, and double spaces should not occur.
Support added for renaming and removing artists/albums/genres.
Files under songs are now saved with the original spaces, and sub-directories now match the song titles exactly. Underscores are replaced by spaces.
Option added to print the custom field next to song titles.
A music symbol is now shown on the library screen for songs that have associated audio tracks.
Option added to only display song titles in song lists, instead of putting ‘Album – Artist’ under the titles.
If guess song title is disabled under batch import, file extensions are no longer used in song titles.
The virtual keyboard is now automatically dismissed when a song is loaded.

MobileSheets Companion v1.2.8
Algorithm improved for determining song titles from file names.
Library backup is now streamed, meaning it is faster and no space is required on the tablet.
Song counts can now be seen next to all lists of songs.
PDF renderer updates.

Another round of updates with some minor changes to address some recent user feature requests, as well as my own dissatisfaction with the current pinch zoom responsiveness. Annotations has been pushed back until the next update, as I'm still hard at work on them.

Here are the changes:

MobileSheets v2.9
- Added ability to load random song by selecting the '?' character on the library screen
- Zooming is now disabled while the performance mode is active.
- Zooming on the edges of the screen is now ignored
- The zoom value is now shown in the center of the screen while pinch zooming
- Improved the responsiveness and accuracy of the pinch zooming
- Fixed various crash reports.
- The number of items displayed on the library screen is now shown at the top.

MobileSheets Companion v1.2.7
- Added a ton of error handling/checks during batch import. It should no longer cause crashes, and errors will now be displayed.

I have another series of updates to fix some recent bugs, and some other outstanding ones. Look at the changes below.

MobileSheets v2.8

- Fixed error shown while editing image based songs.
- Fixed crash related to empty selection on collection editor dialog.
- Fixed source type filtering.
- Fixed crashes related to PDFs with large images stored in them.
- Maximum Memory usage for the PDF renderer is now configurable. The default is 64 MB. Larger values will render and load faster, but may make the program unstable with certain PDFs and/or tablets.
- Added option to default to the number keyboard for song searching. This will have no affect on some tablets.
- Only 16 images are buffered now instead of 20 to help with memory usage and processing.
- Added ability to bypass license check for Google purchases. If you encounter a licensing error, use the email feature to send me your tablet info and order #.
- Fixed crash related to page slider/preview window.

MobileSheetsCompanion v1.2.6

- Fixed bug with end page slider not properly changing sometimes.
- Fixed crash related to removing PDF files in editor.
- Fixed duplicate entries in custom dropdown.
- Fixed incorrect counting shown while batch importing.
- Fixed error preventing defaults from being saved, and new versions from being detected.

I hope this update fixes the last remaining big issues so I can focus completely on annotations. As noted in that last bullet of the companion app, you may not get a notification to automatically update. You will have to go to "Check For Updates" under the help menu inside the application, or download the latest off the website. Enjoy!

A lot of bug fixes and minor enhancements have been added for this update. This update has slowed down the annotations development a little, but I will be getting right back to it now. I am also getting close to being done with the manual updates to explain a lot of the new features. Here is what has been changed/added:

- Changed current link pedal mode to two pedal modes (scroll through previous links, scroll through next links) and (link start or previous page/ link end or next page).
- Added option in settings for large alphabet letters on the library screen.
- Added ability to access song notes from overlay.
- Added option to avoid duplicate songs during batch import.
- Changed start page/end page to be driven only by the popup dialog (no more sliders). Much better for large PDF documents.

MobileSheets Companion v1.2.5
- Songs added through batch import now show up correctly on main screen
- Added avoid duplicates checkbox to batch import dialog
- Difficulty is now correctly selected after creating song, then editing it
- Added numeric inputs for the page fields and the zoom. This allows for quick manual entry (hit enter to accept numeric entry immediately)
- Added buttons on Song Editor dialog to go back one page, forward one page
- Custom text now has auto-complete
- Tweaked networking code to improve connection success
- Fixed various crashes
- Fixed duplicate song entry on Collection screen
- Fixed opening of files with non-ascii characters
- Added new dialog under file menu to print song lists. This will generate a list of your songs from either your entire library or a setlist. You can configure the output format (what is printed for each song, i.e. title), and sorting, and then easily copy the list to the clipboard if needed.

It took me longer than expected (it always done), but I've put out v2.5 which contains the following bug fixes and enhancements:

- Library backup error due to songs pointing to non-existent files has been fixed.
- Added previous/next track buttons to media player, and removed touch edge to switch track feature.
- Fixed various bugs related to the bluetooth previous link/next link pedal mode.
- Vertical scrolling is now supported for both portrait and landscape if an image is zoomed in.
- Auto-scrolling works correctly again.
- Added performance mode in settings to disable overlay entirely.
- Selected dropdown filters are now colored differently to make choices obvious
- Layouts have been fixed for tablets running 2.3 and lower. Text labels should be better aligned now. Also fixed metronome layout.
- Fixed bug where setlist page number is initially messed up when switching between setlists.
- Reduced memory usage for tablets running 2.3 and lower to hopefully eliminate crashes when loading large documents. Loading may be slower as a result.
- Pinch mode was backwards, so it was been flipped.
- Files are now properly sorted during a batch import
- The status bar now automatically re-dims after tapping the media player at the bottom
- Removing songs from an active setlist now works correctly
- Fixed various crash reports found through Google error reporting (thanks everyone).
- Status bar automatically redims after closing media player at bottom by tapping
- Removing songs from the active setlist should work correctly now

There might be a few other fixes that people asked for that I threw in too.

As for the companion app, there is only one significant change I made:
The installer is now packaged as a .zip on the website. It comes with setup.exe and MobileSheetsCompanion.msi. Please run the setup.exe, especially if you are having .NET problems. I'm trying to determine if this will solve the issues people have been having. The automatic updating will launch setup.exe by default now.

Hello everyone,

I finally got the forums set up so that users can share information with each other. I also now have a mechanism to share information so that everyone can see it at once. It's ultimately up to the users how useful these forums become, so I hope everyone can help make this a great center for information and discussion. Over time, I will continually post small guides on how to best use features, and tips and tricks that people may not be aware of. Hopefully these will be of use to both new and experienced users.
